CND Gleam and Glow Summer 2024 Collection

CND™ is excited to introduce their newest collection, Gleam & Glow, with six vibrant nail polish shades inspired by the warmth and radiance self-care rituals can bring. The collection draws inspiration from the heartwarming traditions across Eastern cultures, where nights filled with lights and color symbolize a wish for fortune, happiness, and love.

Available in both CND™ SHELLAC™ Gel Polish and CND™ VINYLUX™ Long Wear Polish, Gleam & Glow is a trend-forward twist on the classics, introducing subtle visual elements like playful iridescence, radiant glitter, and sheer jelly colors!

Enjoy an interview with the three incredible, talented nail artists who worked on the nail designs for GLEAM & GLOW; Vivian Xue Rahey, Tom Truong and Mino Vo.

Question 1: There is a functional approach to executing a great nail design, but it also requires great creativity! How do you nourish your creative spirit?

I nourish my creative spirit by finding things in the world that spark joy! Be it movies, books, things found in nature, other forms of art (other than nails), I try to keep myself stimulated mentally. My latest obsessions are always reflected in my ideas.

Question 2: What symbolism do the silver dragons on your Dragon Jade nails represent? Does it relate to AAPI month?

The champagne gold dragons are a bit of a nostalgic element from my childhood! Jade jewelry with dragons or fish were passed down from my relatives as things symbolizing empowerment, prosperity, and harmoniousness. This collection had such beautiful glass shades in it that I immediately thought of jade jewelry.

Question 1: The nails you create are always so sleek, with a perfectly placed apex. Could you share a professional tip on building architecture that flatters your clients' nails?

When I build nail enhancements, I am focused on the best way to streamline and elongate the look of the nail and hand. The apex is the drama, and the tapered outline adds sleekness.

Question 2: Can you share a nail pro business tip that has made a big difference in your business?

I always photograph and post every design that I do on Instagram. I never filter or retouch my photographs. My work is authentic and real. My clients can really see what they can expect!

Question 1: Our Gleam & Glow collection pays homage to Asian artistry and energy. How do you honor and celebrate your cultural heritage?

Although I was born in UK, I always honour and celebrate my Asian heritage. I keep traditions that my Mum taught me. I was lucky enough to grow up speaking both Vietnamese and English, and regularly visit Asia. I’ve travelled most of Asia and experienced this beautiful culture. I also lived in China for a year as part of my degree (BA Business and Chinese). I am proud of my Asian heritage and love travelling with friends so they can experience the magic with me and learn continue to learn more about my cultural heritage together!

Question 2: The art you create is precise and extraordinary! How do you empower Nail Pros to embrace precision techniques? Any professional tips you can share?

Technique is not something that we can master overnight. It takes a lot of hard work, a lot of practice but also you need to learn from the right teachers. Gather enough knowledge and experience but don’t copy, create your own style, your own technique, this is where the magic happens. Creative art that breaths your energy, a signature style that others can recognise is yours even without your name or logo. This was one of my goals at the beginning of my journey and somewhere down the line it became a reality.
