MODERN FOLKLORE

Where art thou Juliet?

Fall 2014 is lush with embellished, bespoke and handmade craftsmanship designed to indulge the senses. Resurrected details inspire rich new traditions and reasons to dress up again. Lavishly embroidered and beaded velvets and brocades are carefully sculpted in finely flattering shapes of over-sized cape collars and corseted waists, exaggerated puffed sleeves and dramatic full skirts all which invite an evening of indulgence.

Our modern day Juliet is doll-like with lips hyper-accentuated in red-orange or red-fuchsia and cheeks flush with color.

Hair is modern and loose with carefully selected strands tied and braided into a decorative crown.

Nails are ornate miniature masterpieces richly polished in shades of Locket Love, Fine Vermilion, Rose Brocade, Crimson Sash, Plum Paisley and Indigo Frock from the CND Modern Folklore collection and detailed in intricate patterns inspired by Faberge and Fine Tapestry. Old world artesian techniques of embossing, engraving and embellishing transforms nails into treasures to be coveted this season.

“Good night, good night! Parting is such sweet sorrow,
That I shall say good night till it be morrow.”
