The ‘Modern Medieval’ story was pushed all the way to every last detail: the medieval manicures were woven strips of custom-blended polish that were then mattefied. The unique mani was created using CND Colours in Desert Suede, Frosting Cream and Chocolate Milk over a base blend of high shine CND Colours in Desert Suede and Frosting Cream. Each nail tip required fifteen minutes to make by hand and the 30 total sets of nails for the show took over 150 hours.

The melodic sounds transported everyone at the Joy Cioci presentation to another era when free time was plentiful and ‘sun bathing’ meant decking yourself out to the nines.

No treasure hunt needed today, as riches were found on the crystal clear ‘Water Bubble’ manicure created with a light coat of  ’Cream Wash’ then dipped in clear multi-sized beads, for an elegant and effervescent result!

The looks featured clean lines in color blocks of high key primaries and delicate whites with intricate laser cut-outs on handkerchief-thin crisp cotton and silks. The dramatic shapes on top were draped and tented over long pencil silhouettes and short sculptured shapes.

Both the jewelry and the nails played tricks on the eye with their 3-D effects and asymmetrical lines.  Nails were in matte lavender almonds, with edges iced in an off center high shine lilac.

Art redefined.

Tent dresses featured floating planets and lunar prints, and space battle inspired motifs were key players in this smart, if not a little geeky story of a girl torn between the past and the future. She’s a little off — her bangs hang beneath the bottom rim of her oversized glass, her hat is much too tall and skirt too short, coat too big and pants too long.

Nails are pure and optimistically high shine in ‘Studio White.’ Who doesn’t want to be THIS cool?

Faces glowed with an iridescent sheen; eyes were deepened with lilac smoke, and nails gleamed brightly in fresh water pearl, created with ‘Titanium Pearl’  & ‘Air Dry’ mixed with a dash of ‘Black Jack.’ Magnificent Malandrino does it again!
