Jen Kao Spring 2013 Runway Show – Matte “Bone” Manis

Jen Kao showed, “a haiku collection–def:  How to speak volumes with just a few words”. This idea served as Jen’s theme for her collection, shown at the New York City Library in the beautiful circular theater, to a packed house. Jen Kao is a designer who thinks deeply and uses important references from her heritage, travels, and personal vision to guide her hand. The clothes were graphic, sporty, and asymmetrical, making them a new day-wear uniform that defines a turn in NYC fashion shows. The result is part creative thought  and part refined execution.

The matte “bone” manicure reflected the restraint needed to choose the “right words.” The nail had a hint of  ”heritage” using  one coat of CND Gold Shimmer Effect, followed by modest layer of blush ivory using CND Colour in Pink Lily and then subtly calcified with a final swipe of CND Super Matte Top Coat. THESE were nails that speak volumes in their subtlety.
