Nicole Miller – Bold Geometry

The designer:
Fashion-famous since the 80’s, Nicole Miller popularized colorful prints and batwing sleeves. She’s been a commercial success for years and drew a hip, downtown crowd…as well the Vogue team in the front row!

The collection:
Geometrics, stripes, checks and patchwork prints in bold shades of pink, lime and royal blue complemented 80’s silhouettes in jumpsuits with skinny racer back T’s, zippered parachute pants with menswear batwing shirts and skinny leggings paired with oversized denim jackets…all with chunky multi-toned snakeskin platforms.

The nail trend:
‘New Rock N’ Roll’. We created glam rock checkered manicures using Raspberry Parfait and a custom mixed blue using Anchor Blue, Dark Ruby, Eclectic Purple and adding blue pigment. Nails were finished with one layer of Ice Blue Shimmer. We created the look with a vertical sweep of pink down the nail, and the same with a sweep of blue down the other side, so each half of the nail is covered with a color. Go over with each color for the opposite corners. Top all nails with Ice Blue Shimmer for a dazzling finish.
Get the Look:
We extended nails in a light, 80’s round square shape using Brisa Gel and then stroked on the magical checks using Colour & Effects!
